Senior Product Manager
Job Description:
- Take full ownership of a major part of company's platform — from early idea to finished, shipped product.
- Turn feedback from distributors, operators, and internal teams into clear requirements engineers can build from, and be accountable for the end result.
- Lead complex projects connecting company to outside procurement, catalog, and ERP systems, handling both the technical setup and the business relationships involved.
- Be the go-to person for major clients and integration partners when issues arise, explaining technical problems in business terms (and vice versa).
- Choose one or two key metrics to own for your product area, and set up regular reporting on them.
- Run structured tests before investing engineering time — each with a clear hypothesis, a target result, and a comparison group where possible.
- After each test, decide clearly whether to stop, improve, or expand it, and explain why.
- Each quarter, decide how much time goes to handling requests versus pursuing your own ideas, and report on that balance.
- Represent your product area in planning meetings with sales, marketing,
and customer success, and be willing to push back when a request doesn't
support your goals.
Requirements
- 8+ years in product management, with a track record of driving real results, not just shipping features.
- At least 2 years spent specifically responsible for improving a business metric, including running tests with a clear hypothesis, target outcome, and comparison group, and following through to a documented decision.
- Comfortable working on technical products with complex integrations — you don't need to code, but should be able to read specs or diagrams well enough to question technical decisions or spot problems.
- Experience managing high-pressure relationships with major clients, partners, or accounts — able to translate between technical issues and business concerns.
- Proven ability to turn down requests that don't support your goals, even when they sound reasonable.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable coordinating across time zones with remote teams, partners, and leadership.
- Based in Sri Lanka, able to work fully remote with enough overlap with US hours for live meetings and urgent issues.
Nice to Have
- Experience in B2B software, marketplaces, or distribution/logistics.
- Familiarity with procurement integration methods (punchout, cXML, EDI) or ERP-related catalog/inventory systems.
- Experience working with AI-assisted development tools.
